Heidi Mollenhauer is best known for her role as the singing voice of Esmerelda in The Hunchback of Notre Dame.

I just want to share something with everyone here about what the Bible says about us and eternity. First off, Romans 3:23 says, "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God"; That includes you and that includes me. We are all sinners-- we do things that are selfish, wrong, and against God. Romans 6:23 says, "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." So we're all sinners, and the punishment for our sin is death. Eternal, spiritual death in Hell. This is what we deserve. This is what God's justice demands. But God loves us so much that He wanted to make a way for our salvation. John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life." Romans 5:8 says, "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Jesus as God was able to pay the penalty for ALL of our sins when He died. He took on the full wrath that was meant for us, thereby paying our debt. Romans 10:9 says, "that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;" Jesus died and rose from the grave, conquering death and sin. If we call upon His name, accepting His gift of salvation, He will save us. He will forgive us. He will come into ...

It is a paraphrase of Psalm 90, a psalm of Moses, originally consisting of nine stanzas. Today, the hymn is usually limited to stanzas one, two, three, five and nine. In 1738 John Wesley in his hymnal, Psalms and Hymns, changed the first line to the text from "Our God" to "O God." The hymn was originally part of The Psalms of David Imitated in the Language of the New Testament, published by Watts in 1719. In this book he paraphrased in Christian verse the entire psalter with the exception of twelve psalms which he felt were unsuited for Christian usage. This hymn ranks as one of the finest of Watts's more than 600 hymns. Isaac Watts (1674-1748), born on July 17, 1674 in Southampton, England, is often called the father of English hymnody.
